Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Inspector 2/3 to support our Propulsion Systems and Controls Business unit in Elkton, MD. The role involves visual and dimensional inspection of components and assemblies, using process documents and inspection plans, and performing first article and line inspections.

Level 2 requires 2+ years of experience, while Level 3 requires 4+. The position may require overtime; a secret clearance is needed, and citizenship is a prerequisite.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to obtain a secret clearance; US citizenship is required.
• Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
• Attention to detail.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Use process control documents, inspection plans, and specifications to visually and dimensionally inspect components and assemblies.
• Work from process documents, drawings or inspection instructions and checklists.
• Monitor and verify quality using statistical process or other control procedures.
• Perform mechanical or electrical inspections on manufactured/purchased components and assemblies.
• Operate Calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment.
• Create inspection reports from drawings or inspection plans.
• Accept, reject, or rework defective units or systems.
• Investigate non-conformances and participate in root cause and corrective action.
