Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Inspector - Level 2/3 to join the Elkton, Maryland facility. The role involves mechanical/electronic inspection, reporting, and first article checks in a manufacturing environment.

Candidates must be able to obtain US Secret clearance and work second shift after training on first shift. The position includes opportunities to work with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and PC-DMIS software with emphasis on accuracy and quality assurance in propulsion systems and

  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of related experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to support Second Shift schedule. The selected candidate will receive approximately 6 months of training to be performed on a First Shift schedule.
  • Ability to obtain a United States Government Secret security clearance, for which US citizenship is a prerequisite.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least 4 years of related experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to support Second Shift schedule. The selected candidate will receive approximately 6 months of training to be performed on a First Shift schedule.
  • Ability to obtain a United States Government Secret security clearance, for which US citizenship is a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical or electronic inspection on manufactured/purchased components and assemblies.
  • Visually inspect for defects. Verify parts or materials meet specifications indicated.
  • Create inspection reports as needed from drawings or inspection plans.
  • Perform mathematical calculations to ensure compliance ti inspection criteria.
  • Perform first article inspections from the Machine Shop. Perform in-process inspections, electronic/mechanical inspection and electrical testing on subassemblies and final assemblies in the production area.
  • Operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), using PC-DMIS software, including development and maintenance of programs, set up and execution.
  • Be flexible in work skills and daily tasks assigned.

Northrop Grumman is currently seeking an Inspector - Level 2/3 to join our team at our Elkton, Maryland location.

The Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. This position falls under a Federal Explosives License issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for this location.Candidates hired into this role will be required to complete and submit an Employee Possessor Questionnaire to ATF for approval to be a possessor.

Primary Level Salary Range: $45,100.00 - $75,100.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $53,500.00 - $89,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
