Job summary

Amazon's Prime Air team seeks a Propulsion Hardware Engineer to help scale the electrical propulsion system for drones, working across lab testing and production to implement corrective actions and workflows.

You will analyze root causes, troubleshoot interfaces, manage lab resources, and coordinate with supply chain and vendors to drive long-term hardware solutions and production readiness.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience troubleshooting issues and root cause analysis.
Experience managing lab resources, equipment, and supplies.
Experience in production or post production processes and facilities.
Experience with product level validation testing (Thermal, EMC/EMI, Shock, Cycle Testing, etc.).
Experience in root cause analysis and error correction, identifying changes to procedures and systems to implement long-term fixes and avoid repeating issues.
Experience testing hardware/mechanical sub-components, research and data analysis skills, and/or Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout best practices.

Prime Air is seeking an experienced engineer to aid the development and scaling of the Production and Field Operations of the electrical propulsion system of Prime Air Drones. This role will require you to dive deep into root cause analysis, troubleshoot in a lab environment, develop mitigations, and drive future solutions for the propulsion subsystem. You will also be responsible for documenting and developing streamlined workflows to deliver corrective actions for other subsystems and operations use, interfacing with supply chain and external vendors on your findings, and applying this knowledge into production-level test systems to help mitigate issues on future hardware.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
