Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a highly qualified propulsion engineering leader to oversee the design, development, and transition to production of cutting-edge propulsion systems at Allegany Ballistics Laboratory in Rocket Center, WV.

You will lead a team of propulsion engineers, ensure policy adherence, mentor staff, and participate in design and testing reviews to meet program goals. On-site role with opportunities for growth and impact on national defense systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent and 10 years experience; or STEM Master with 8 years of experience in design and development of complex systems.
• Excellent leadership skills and ability to manage diverse teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a wide range of audiences.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the execution of engineering work products on multiple programs.
• Ensure organizational and statutory policies and practices are adhered to.
• Establish and maintain efficient and effective teams.
• Mentor and coach engineers to advance their technical and professional skills.
• Evaluate individual performance and provide feedback through periodic reviews.
• Support internal development and research pursuits and proposals.
• Serve as a voting member on design and testing engineering review boards.
• Ensure manpower and staffing needs of multiple programs are satisfied.
