Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Propulsion Engineering Manager 2 to join our team at the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory in Rocket Center, WV. This on-site role leads propulsion engineers through design, development, and transition to production of cutting-edge motor propulsion systems.

The candidate will oversee multiple programs, mentor staff, and ensure staffing and policy compliance while maintaining strong leadership and communication across audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent; 10 years’ experience, or STEM Master’s with 8 years’ experience in design and development of complex systems.
• Experience leading a team to achieve a common goal on large or challenging efforts.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, development, and transition to production of propulsion systems.
• Lead a team of propulsion engineers within the Propulsion Engineering Department.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and practices; mentor engineers; manage staffing across programs.
• Serve on design and testing review boards; support internal development and proposals.
