Astro Mechanica is offering an in-person, summer internship in San Francisco to join the Propulsion Engineering Team. You will help design, analyze, and validate propulsion hardware, working closely with senior engineers on real hardware from concept through test.

You will gain hands-on experience across the full development cycle, from design trades to assembly and testing, and you will contribute to the Duality engine’s configuration and performance.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or holding a degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
• Hands-on experience with propulsion-related systems or fluids is preferred.
• Familiarity with CAD tools, tolerancing, and data acquisition is required.

Responsabilités

• Assist in propulsion hardware design and analysis across the development cycle.
• Build, test, and validate hardware components with senior engineers.
• Contribute to design reviews and documentation for stakeholder feedback.
• Assemble prototypes and develop supporting tooling and work instructions.
• Analyze test data to verify performance against requirements.
• Support ongoing troubleshooting and propose corrective actions.
