Astro Mechanica invites talented students to join the Propulsion Engineering Team for a summer internship in San Francisco. You will design, analyze, and validate propulsion hardware from concept through test, with mentorship from senior engineers and real influence on the Duality engine’s performance.

You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full development cycle, from design trades to assembly and test, embracing the test-like-you-fly philosophy in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with fluidic, mechanical, or propulsion systems.
• Experience with CAD modeling (Siemens NX preferred).
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, precision measurement, and GD&T.
• Interest in a full-time in-person internship in San Francisco during Summer 2027.

Responsabilités

• Support design trade studies with an eye for system-level impacts.
• Detail design of propulsion components and support structural analyses.
• Present work in design reviews and gather stakeholder feedback.
• Assemble prototypes, design tooling, and write work instructions.
• Support hardware testing and analyze data to verify requirements and performance.
