Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and production of additive propulsion hardware. You will collaborate with propulsion and manufacturing teams to translate drawings into robust, repeatable hardware and improve processes across the full manufacturing lifecycle.

The role requires a hands-on approach with additive platforms, strong DfM knowledge for both additive and traditional methods, and ability to drive DOE initiatives,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, welding, aerospace, or related engineering required.
• 2+ years hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability for additive and traditional processes.
• Strong understanding of thermal and structural fundamentals as applied to metallics.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design, analysis, materials, and other engineers to develop propulsion hardware.
• Work with additive platforms for optimization, troubleshooting, and calibration.
• Drive projects to improve printer robustness and repeatability based on data and sensor monitoring.
• Develop manufacturing procedures and quality verifications for additive processes.
• Coordinate with vendors to define requirements for additively manufactured hardware.
• Develop new additive processes and materials to support propulsion products.
• Produce and improve reports, procedures, and manuals documenting results.
