Job summary

SOCOTEC, Inc. is seeking a Proposal Writer to develop and coordinate proposals and estimates under the direction of the Proposal Manager.

This role suits a self-motivated individual who can manage multiple proposals with clients and technical leaders. Your work will position SOCOTEC’s specialized BRE practice in building envelope, sustainability, energy efficiency, code advisory, commissioning, and related services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1–2 years of proposal writing/estimating experience desirable.
• Strong analytical and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple proposals under tight deadlines.
• Proficient with MS Office; familiar with Copilot and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with Deltek Vantagepoint.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily team scrum to review proposal priorities and progress.
• Review assigned proposal requests, assess requirements and identify input from team leaders.
• Develop technical proposals based on templates and estimates for effort and fees.
• Conduct research and gather information; attend meetings with service-line leaders to reflect SOCOTEC's expertise.
• Review proposals with technical leaders; update per input and ensure client requirements.
• Collaborate with Legal and Finance teams to produce complete proposals.
• Collaborate with fellow writers to review language for clarity and accuracy.
• Contact clients/prospects to obtain additional information and confirm receipt.
• Enter and maintain client and project data in the CRM (Deltek).
• Coordinate with Proposal Team Manager to refine templates, narratives, and graphics.
