Job summary

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and support the proposal process following standard procedures, including planning, reviewing, and producing statements of qualifications and proposals.
• Participate in discussions with operation team members, leadership, external partners, and/or others to clarify requested scope of service and other proposal requirements.
• Navigate schedules for multiple concurrent proposals and competitive RFPs, meeting tight deadlines with diverse stakeholders.
• Provide quality assurance editorial support for proposals, reports, presentations, and other content.
• Coordinate with the team to develop, research, track, and follow up on proposals and other assigned projects.
• Handle various ad hoc requests from internal operations and sales team leaders.

Clarity Partners is seeking a Proposal Specialist local to Chicago, IL. We are looking for a motivated, creative, independent worker to join our team! As a valued member of the business development team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to facilitate, edit, and format new business proposals; generate a variety of content formats; provide strong editorial and communication support; and offer a wide array of services for the company. This position will report in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate and support the proposal process following standard procedures, including planning, reviewing, and producing statements of qualifications and proposals.
• Participate in discussions with operation team members, leadership, external partners, and/or others, as necessary to clarify the requested scope of service and/or materials, due dates, and other proposal requirements.
• Navigate schedules for multiple concurrent proposals and competitive RFPs, meeting tight and competing deadlines, and working with a variety of stakeholders and subject matter experts throughout the company.
• Provide quality assurance editorial (content, grammar, and formatting) support for proposals, reports, presentations, deliverables, and other content.
• Coordinate with the team to develop, research, track, and follow up on proposals and other assigned projects.
• Handle various ad hoc requests as they arise, primarily from internal operations and sales team leaders.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 2-3 years of business development and/or proposal writing experience.
• Ability to collaborate with leadership, project managers, and relevant consultants in the proposal preparation process while maintaining a positive attitude and customer focus.
• Familiarity using AI for editorial purposes.
• Excellent business, technical, and creative writing skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Strong professional written and verbal communication.
• Ability to juggle competing deadlines for multiple teams, prioritizing and tracking tasks based on urgency.
• Ability to write for different audiences (internal and external) in various styles and formats, including reports, visually driven content, business letters, resumes, and digital content.
• Understands the sales process and the sense of urgency required to meet client needs and to adapt deliverables as needs change or become more defined, occasionally on short notice.
• Ability to perform research, analyze, and interpret market information and data, and provide clear, concise summaries and presentations (both written and verbal).

Clarity is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For the Proposal Specialist role, the base salary pay rate is $75,000 - $90,000. The pay rate represents a good faith estimate that Clarity reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of posting.
