Job summary

LHH seeks a detail-oriented Proposal Engineer in Tulsa, OK, to support sales and engineering by reviewing RFQs, interpreting technical specifications, and developing accurate technical proposals and cost estimates.

You will develop system configurations, select appropriate equipment, and prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) for customer quotations, collaborating with vendors and internal teams to ensure proposals align with project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience reviewing RFQs and preparing technical quotations or proposals.
• Experience interpreting technical specifications, engineering drawings, P&IDs, and datasheets.
• Ability to develop Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Experience working with vendors to obtain technical information, pricing, and lead times.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple quotations and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret RFQs, technical specifications, P&IDs, engineering drawings, datasheets, and scope documents.
• Develop technical proposals, quotations, system configurations, and BOMs.
• Evaluate customer requirements and identify instrumentation, analyzers, sample handling systems, electrical components, controls, and accessories.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain technical information, pricing, and lead times.
• Identify project requirements, technical gaps, risks, assumptions, and exclusions during quotation.
• Collaborate with Inside Sales, Outside Sales, and Engineering to ensure proposals meet customer expectations and project specs.
• Support revisions to proposals and quotations as requirements change.
• Maintain standardized BOMs, engineering guidelines, and quotation documentation.
• Assist with technical handoffs from quotation to project execution.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Proposal Engineer with hands‑on experience reviewing Requests for Quotation (RFQs), interpreting technical specifications, and developing accurate technical proposals and cost estimates. This individual will play an important role in supporting the sales and engineering teams by evaluating customer requirements, developing system configurations, selecting appropriate equipment, and preparing Bills of Material (BOMs) for customer quotations.

The ideal candidate has an engineering background and experience working with industrial equipment, instrumentation, process controls, or oil and gas applications. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical engineering knowledge with customer-facing commercial support.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret customer RFQs, technical specifications, P&IDs, engineering drawings, datasheets, and scope documents.
• Develop technical proposals, quotations, system configurations, and Bills of Material (BOMs).

Required Qualifications

• Ability to develop Bills of Material (BOMs) and identify equipment based on customer requirements.
• Experience working with vendors and suppliers to obtain technical information, pricing, and lead times.
