Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. offers a structured summer internship in New York City, blending hands-on underwriting exposure with classroom learning. You will assist in underwriting specialized sectors, evaluate accounts, and support the wholesale network, all within a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).

The program runs June 2, 2027 – August 6, 2027 for current juniors/seniors pursuing Risk Management, Insurance, or Engineering with strong GPA. Eligible interns receive Arch benefits.

Qualifications

• Actively completing area of study in Risk Management and Insurance, Engineering, or related program.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
• College level - current Junior or Senior student, with graduation dates ranging from December 2027 - May 2028.
• Strong proficiency in understanding financial statements.
• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
• Strong analytical skillset, with a keen ability to think through issues
• Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner.
• Team player who collaborates effectively.
• Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in underwriting specialized sectors such as manufacturing, warehousing, public entities, healthcare, education, and real estate programs.
• Support the wholesale distribution network by evaluating various types of accounts, including earthquake, hurricane, tornado, hail, flood, and wildfire exposures.
• Manage incoming broker submissions and ensure completeness and accuracy of data.
• Research and share new business opportunities through submission analysis and market trends.
• Review policy construction and support documentation for quotes and binders.
• Maintain organized records of broker interactions, quotes, and bound policies.
