Job summary

Laramie County Property Tax Department in Cheyenne, WY, is seeking a staff member under direct supervision to perform various property tax functions and administrative activities.

You will process ad valorem and mobile machinery payments, handle cash receipts, assist with delinquent taxes, and provide information to the public. Strong customer service and knowledge of tax laws are helpful.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of property tax services and activities.
• Knowledge of tax laws and standards in relation to property tax collection.
• Ability to research and notify taxpayers about unpaid taxes.
• Ability to draft general correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Process ad valorem and mobile machinery tax payments.
• Process mobile home movement applications and tax status changes.
• Identify and record county revenues and print land redemptions.
• Research unpaid taxes and notify owners of amounts due.
• Handle cash, checks and credit card payments.
• Answer inquiries and provide information about policies and procedures.
• Draft correspondence for tax payments when needed.
• Assist with delinquent tax collection under Wyoming statutes.
• Support annual tax activities including tax sale procedures.
• Sort and process departmental mail.
