Job summary

King County’s Finance and Business Operations Division, Treasury, is hiring a Revenue Collections Specialist (Fiscal Specialist 3) to handle property tax payments and accounts receivable with precision. You will process electronic payments, post journal entries, and resolve discrepancies in a fast-paced public sector environment.

Ideal candidates bring clerical/data-entry experience, strong MS Office skills, and a customer-service mindset while collaborating with the team and supporting backup

Qualifications

• Clerical or data-entry experience with high accuracy and deadlines.
• Ability to research, analyze and resolve financial transaction issues.
• Strong communication, writing and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools and multi-priority work.

Responsibilities

• Process property tax payments and post to tax accounts.
• Open and prepare incoming property tax payments for processing.
• Process electronic payments via wire or ACH.
• Perform daily journal entries of payments and reconciliations.
• Verify tax payment accuracy and research discrepancies; train staff.
• Provide backup support for cashier and team.
• Communicate tax information to taxpayers and staff.
