Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Property Tax Lead Analyst to join its corporate tax team for a large, publicly traded manufacturing company with nationwide and international operations.

The role reports to the Corporate Property Tax Manager and oversees compliance, planning, valuation, appeals, and financial reporting for a portfolio of complex properties. You will collaborate with operations, accounting, consultants, and taxing jurisdictions to maximize tax savings.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in real estate and business personal property tax compliance.
• Experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Significant experience managing property tax appeals across multiple states, including Texas.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders at various levels.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage multi-state real estate and business personal property tax compliance for a portfolio of complex properties.
• Ensure accurate and timely filings while monitoring state/local regulations and deadlines.
• Research and pursue opportunities to reduce property tax liabilities.
• Independently manage property tax valuation appeals, including complex jurisdictions and Texas.
• Prepare and manage monthly property tax accruals, forecasts, and true-ups.
• Analyze property tax data and prepare detailed reports using advanced Excel and property tax management systems.
• Partner with plant operations, corporate accounting, external consultants, and taxing authorities on property tax matters.
• Support property tax strategy and planning initiatives across the organization.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and SOX requirements.
• Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while exercising independent judgment and accountability.
