Job summary

Elko County seeks an Appraiser Trainee to perform routine office and field duties in real and personal property appraisal for tax assessment. You will work under a certified appraiser and gain exposure to multiple departments within the assessor’s office.

The role requires learning appraisal theory, Nevada Revised Statutes, and NAC; pursuing certification and exams will be expected within 1 year of hire. A driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of college-level coursework in Business Administration or related field.
• No experience required; 1 year of property valuation experience preferred.
• Must maintain a valid Nevada driver's license.
• Must pass General and Real Property State exams to be licensed in Nevada within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collect data and prepare appraisal reports.
• Learn the basic functions of assessor’s office departments.
• Study Nevada statutes, NAC, and appraisal theory for certification.
