Job summary

Thanksgiving Point is seeking a Property Security Officer to monitor and protect our venue, respond to incidents, and maintain safety across facilities. The role offers full-time hours, on-site work at Thanksgiving Point, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Ideal candidates are 18+, hold a valid Utah driver's license with a clean MVR, can pass background/BCI checks, and are able to stand up to 8 hours, lift up to 50 pounds, and provide first aid when needed. EOE.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid Utah Driver License with clean MVR.
• Ability to pass background check and BCI screening.
• Ability to walk/stand up to 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and protect property, guests, team members, and facilities; respond to security, safety, and emergencies.
• Respond to security incidents and medical emergencies per laws and procedures.
• Patrol property and report safety, maintenance, or security concerns.
• Provide visible security presence and assist with cash/monetary transfers and sensitive activities.
• Provide first aid or clinical care within training and procedures.
• Inspect and ensure safe use of safety equipment and devices.
• Support team members performing hazardous duties and adapt to situations as they arise.
• Communicate effectively with guests and staff under pressure.
• Identify and address unsafe or unsecured conditions and report to proper department.
• Represent Thanksgiving Point by upholding Mission, Values, and Policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and protect Thanksgiving Point’s property, guests, team members, and facilities by responding promptly and professionally to security, safety, and emergency situations.


• Respond to security incidents and medical emergencies within the scope of applicable laws, training, and Thanksgiving Point procedures.


• Conduct routine and scheduled patrols of the property, identifying, documenting, and reporting security, safety, maintenance, or other concerns.


• Provide a visible security presence throughout venues and assist with security operations, including cash/monetary transfers and other sensitive activities.


• Provide appropriate first aid or clinical care when needed and within the scope of training and established procedures.


• Assist with the inspection, service, and proper use of safety equipment, tools, and security devices.


• Provide safety support and overwatch for team members performing hazardous or higher-risk duties and assist with security operations as situations arise.


• Exercise sound judgment, remain calm under pressure, and communicate effectively when responding to guests, team members, and emergency situations.


• Proactively identify and address unsafe, unsecured, or unsightly conditions and take appropriate action or report concerns to the proper department.


• Represent Thanksgiving Point by consistently demonstrating its Mission, Values, and Policies.


• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work effectively within established procedures and the chain of command.


• Ability to remain professional, courteous, and composed when working in stressful or unpredictable situations.


• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, assess situations, and take appropriate action.


• Ability to provide first aid or other clinical care consistent with training and established procedures.


• Must be at least 18 years of age.


• Valid Utah Driver License and ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) for work-related driving.


• Ability to successfully pass a background check and required BCI screening.


• Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving safety, security, or property concerns without requiring specific direction.


• Ability to work independently while also communicating and collaborating effectively with team members and supervisors.


• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, including up to 8 hours during a shift.


• Ability to bend, push, pull, climb as needed, and safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.


• Positive attitude and professional, approachable demeanor when interacting with guests, team members, and community members.
