Job summary

State of Maine's Department of Administrative & Financial Services, Risk Management, seeks a Loss Control Specialist in Augusta to perform commercial property inspections, valuations, and underwriting reports.

Candidates must evaluate property for insurance, understand NFPA standards, hold a valid driver's license, and be willing to travel. Telework is partial/hybrid with management approval after probation.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in evaluating commercial property for insurance coverage.
• Proficiency in fire safety and NFPA standards.
• Knowledge of Property Casualty Insurance.
• Ability to utilize inspection software and write comprehensive reports.
• Ability to track and record property inspections within a database.
• Ability to assist with Fire Prevention Plans and contingency plans.
• Ability to identify building construction and ISO classes.
• Ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct statewide property inspections.
• Identify building and roof construction type, square footage, and confirm operations.
• Record onsite observations, secure photos, and evaluate safety of insured property.
• Calculate CoreLogic building replacement values and complete underwriting reports.
• Assist agencies with building values and maintenance for insurance coverage.
• Conduct Defensive Driving training.
