Job summary

Volunteers of America Texas seeks a Property Manager to lead on-site operations for 48 housing units. You will supervise staff, coordinate bookkeeping, leases, and marketing while ensuring regulatory compliance and resident satisfaction.

You’ll manage budgets, submit required reports, and uphold Fair Housing guidelines, with on-site responsibilities and potential housing coordination duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required and three years’ experience in property management.
• Alternatively, Bachelor’s degree in a related field with two years’ property management experience.
• Knowledge of HUD, Section 8, 202, 811, LIHTC and conventional properties.

Responsibilities

• Hires, trains, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines all staff.
• Manages the property office staff and functions including bookkeeping, marketing and lease prep.
• Supervises social service coordinator and function.
• Assists in budget preparation for the property.
• Markets the property following Fair Housing guidelines.
• Submits reports required by management or government entities.
• Maintains office files and deposits all monies received.
• Inspects property daily and coordinates repairs as needed.
• Responds to resident requests and complaints.

Day to Day:

• Hires, trains, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines all staff.
• Manages the property office staff and/or functions, ensuring that all bookkeeping, marketing, and lease preparations are performed as required.
• Supervises social service coordinator and function.
• Assists in budget preparation for the property.
• Markets the property in accordance with Fair Housing and the management agent's guidelines.
• Submits reports as required by the management agent or mandated by the federal, state or local government.
• Maintains office files for all business and financial records, as well as properly crediting the computer and properly depositing all monies received.
• Inspects property daily to ensure building and grounds are properly maintained and take or suggest any actions needed for repair.
• Responds to all resident requests and complaints.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required and three years’ experience in property management. OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred and two years’ experience in property management
• Demonstrated knowledge of regulations, acts, guidelines, etc. pertaining to HUD, Section 8, 202, 811, LIHTC and conventional properties.
• May be required to live on site.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and ability to be insured
