Job summary

Arcan Capital is seeking an Assistant Property Manager in Hoover, AL to support daily property operations, leasing, and resident relations. You will work with the property team to ensure a seamless leasing experience and compliant management.

The role includes rent collection, move-in/out inspections, budgeting, and records maintenance, with a minimum of two years in property management and strong accounting skills preferred. Some weekends/holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience in property management or related field.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Proficiency in basic accounting and bookkeeping practices.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and property management software.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with federal, state, and local fair housing laws.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional and friendly assistance to current and prospective residents via phone, email, and in person.
• Support leasing by verifying applications and ensuring Fair Housing compliance.
• Assist with staff training and model effective sales techniques.
• Lead rent collection, manage delinquent accounts, and initiate lease actions.
• Contribute to budget management to improve NOI.
• Maintain resident records and oversee rental payments and banking.
• Conduct move-in/move-out inspections and ensure quality standards.
• Act as Property Manager in absence and adapt to company needs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
