Job summary

Post Road Management is seeking a hands-on Property Maintenance Technician to keep our residential properties safe, comfortable, and well-maintained.

You’ll handle carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general repairs, coordinate with the property manager, respond to maintenance requests, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure timely service for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential construction, home remodeling, and basic plumbing and electrical systems.
• Skills in carpentry, painting, drywall, and time management.
• Own personal tools and reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry and repairs: wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window and door repairs, ceramic tile repair; assist with vinyl flooring and wall base installation.
• General maintenance: handle minor electrical, plumbing, appliance, and heating/air issues; perform painting and other repairs as needed.
• Property operations: assist with daily work orders, apartment turnovers, inspections; respond to emergency maintenance calls, including on-call shifts.
• Preventive maintenance: execute assigned tasks to ensure safety and functionality of the property.
• Communication & collaboration: work with the property manager; maintain positive relationships with residents, vendors, contractors, inspectors, and staff.

What You’ll Do:

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our properties are well-maintained and that residents’ needs are addressed promptly and professionally. Your ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and communicate effectively will contribute to the overall success of the property.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carpentry & Repairs: Perform general carpentry duties such as wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window and door repairs, and ceramic tile repair. Assist with vinyl floor, cove, and wall base installation.
• General Maintenance: Handle minor electrical, plumbing, appliance, and heating/air issues that do not require a license. Perform painting and other repairs as needed.
• Property Operations: Assist with daily operations such as work orders, apartment turnovers, and inspections. Respond to emergency maintenance calls, including on-call shifts as required.
• Preventive Maintenance: Execute assigned preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the safety and functionality of the property.
• Communication & Collaboration: Work closely with the property manager and foster positive relationships with residents, vendors, contractors, inspectors, and staff. Provide timely updates and communicate clarity on work orders and maintenance tasks.

  • Understanding of residential construction, home/apartment remodeling, and basic plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Experience in carpentry, painting, drywall, and time management.
  • Ability to provide accurate quotes and complete work on time and within budget.
• Tools & Transportation: Own personal tools and reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license.

• Physical Ability: Able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently, climb ladders, work overhead, and stand/walk for long periods.
