Job summary

Downtown Partners II, LP in Newark, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to support daily property operations by performing routine and intermediate maintenance across apartment communities. You will handle work orders, make-readies, and preventative tasks with limited supervision.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of multifamily maintenance experience, a high school diploma, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school/technical training preferred.
• At least 2 years of maintenance experience in multifamily housing, facilities, or related field.
• Solid knowledge of appliance repairs, plumbing, painting, electrical fixtures, and carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine and intermediate maintenance repairs, service requests, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain common areas and property grounds to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Document work orders, materials, and status using Yardi Maintenance Mobile.
• Support apartment turnovers with make-ready tasks and basic unit preparation.
• Identify safety hazards and communicate issues to supervisors.
• Provide courteous, professional service to residents and team members.
• Respond to emergencies and after-hours needs as required.
• Collaborate with Property Manager and maintenance team to achieve property goals.
