Job summary

Greystar in Fontana, CA is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and perform hands-on trades ensuring indoor and outdoor communal spaces meet Greystar standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality.

The role requires 3–5 years of maintenance supervision, EPA/CPO preferred, and experience with Yardi or Happy Co/Happy Property management tools; you will manage work orders, make-ready processes, budgets, and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
Experience in property management maintenance, other building maintenance, or related trade.
Incumbents must provide own hand tools unless prohibited by State law and must be knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, user-moved aids, mechanical equipment and measuring devices.
Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define and correct problems.
Proficiency in customer service and interpersonal communication skills to interact with residents, clients, team members, and other business contacts.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to represent company management and interact with internal/external contacts.
Proficiency in internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management; property management system experience preferred.
Mathematical skills to handle numbers, decimals, and measurements for financial and administrative documents.

Responsibilities

Address and complete work orders from resident requests and perform routine upkeep and repairs.
Oversee make-ready process for vacant apartments, schedule vendors and ensure timely leasing readiness.
Develop standards for grounds, building exteriors, interiors, and common areas to reflect Greystar quality.
Inspect work performed by staff and contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
Maintain inventory of spare parts and coordinate supplies within budget with Community Manager.
Perform monthly preventative maintenance per Policy and Procedure Manual.
Assist Community Manager with budget for repairs and capital projects.
Support cost-cutting by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using tools efficiently.
Conduct safety meetings and ensure OSHA/MSDS compliance.
Demonstrate strong customer service by addressing residents' questions and concerns promptly.
