Jersey Digs is seeking a Part-Time Property Maintenance Officer to support the Borough's code enforcement program, focusing on compliance with the International Property Maintenance Code. You will perform administrative tasks, patrol the Borough, and investigate violations while maintaining confidentiality and preparing documentation for potential legal actions.
The role requires at least 18 years old, a valid NJ driver’s license, and the ability to pass background checks; bilingual is a plus.
Part-Time 20 hours per week available. Responsibilities include a variety of technical duties in support of the Borough's code enforcement program, including monitoring and enforcing a variety of applicable ordinances, codes, and regulation mainly in the area of the International Property Maintenance Code.
The Property Maintenance Officer shall carry out the following duties along with other related duties as required by the Construction Official and the Mayor. Perform general administrative tasks for ordinance and code enforcement, patrol the Borough to identify and evaluate problem areas and/or ordinance violations and determine proper method to resolve violations, receive and respond to citizen complaints and reports from other agencies and departments on alleged violations of Borough zoning and related municipal codes and ordinances; perform investigation of complaints and reports and provide recommendations for resolution while maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of the process, prepare documentation and exhibits in support of legal actions taken by the Borough, appear in court as necessary, and testify at hearings and in court proceedings as required.
Bilingual is a plus but not necessary. Must be a minimum of 18 yrs. of age, possess a valid NJ drivers license, able to pass pre-employment background and driver license check.
Hourly rate range is $24-$27 per hour.
