Job summary

Hornig Companies, a long-standing family-owned property management firm in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul area, is seeking a Leasing Specialist to support multiple properties. The role involves expediting leases, answering inquiries, conducting showings (video and in-person), building relationships with prospects and residents, and coordinating move‑ins with accurate paperwork.

Candidates should have leasing or sales experience, strong computer skills (MS Office, Appfolio), and a client‑focused

Qualifications

• Strong leasing or similar sales experience.
• Detail oriented with attention to accuracy.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office. Appfolio software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Expedite leasing of assigned properties.
• Answer phones, greet traffic, respond to emails, build rapport with prospects.
• Showcase, lease and market properties via video connections and in-person showings.
• Build relationships and maintain timely communication with staff and applicants.
• Provide creativity and strategy to market units and evaluate marketing ROI.
• Develop community connections for marketing.
• Initiate move-in process and prepare move-in paperwork.
• Complete reports related to the leasing process.
• Provide administrative support to the Manager.
• Communicate repairs to applicants with care and in line with Fair Housing guidelines.

The Leasing Specialist is an expert Leasing professional who moves between properties within our Minneapolis - St. Paul and surrounding suburbs portfolios, bringing specialized leasing assistance to properties that need additional leasing attention. Mileage and expenses are company-paid.

What would my responsibilities include?

• Expedite the leasing of the properties to which you are assigned
• Answer phones, greet incoming traffic and respond to emails, establishing and maintaining professional rapport with prospects
• Showcase, lease and market the property through video connections and in-person showings
• Build relationships, follow up and maintain effective and timely communication and excellent customer service with staff and applicants
• Provide creativity and strategy to best market the units. Evaluate marketing efforts and provide feedback on the best use of resources.
• Procure and maintain connections in the community for marketing
• Initiate the move-in process and prepare accurate paperwork related to the move-in process
• Complete appropriate reports pertaining to the leasing process
• Provide administrative and operations support to your Manager
• Communicate with applicants regarding repairs in a caring, compassionate manner that upholds Hornig Companies’ customer service reputation as well as Fair Housing guidelines
