Job summary

The Goodyear Police Department is seeking a Property & Evidence Officer to perform clerical and technical tasks related to receipt, storage, and disposal of property and evidence. A minimum of two years of property and evidence management experience in a law enforcement setting is preferred.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate attention to detail and knowledge of evidence storage per Arizona statutes and industry standards; an IAPE certificate is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of evidence storage per Arizona statutes and industry standards.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in property and evidence management in law enforcement.
• Certification from the International Association of Property and Evidence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives, maintains, and releases property and evidence; preserves chain of custody.
• Performs audits, inventories, and inspections across storage locations.
• Testsifies in court as necessary and prepares property for disposition or destruction.
