Job summary

The City of Peoria seeks an experienced Property & Evidence Supervisor to lead the unit with integrity and accountability. You will supervise staff, ensure strict chain of custody, and oversee inventories and audits while aligning with accreditation standards and laws.

The role requires collaboration with police leadership and external partners. You will guide modernization efforts, implement technology improvements, and plan for future facilities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and high service

Qualifications

Requires an Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of three years related experience.
Valid Arizona Class D Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

Plan, assign, supervise, and evaluate the work of Property & Evidence personnel with training and accountability.
Ensure property and evidence are received, documented, stored, tracked, and disposed with chain of custody.
Maintain compliance with laws, accreditation standards, and retention requirements.
Coordinate inventories, audits, inspections, and quality-control reviews (firearms, narcotics, currency, biological evidence).
Oversee lawful return, transfer, destruction, or disposition of property and improve storage capacity.
Evaluate and improve evidence-management systems and workflows to increase accuracy and efficiency.
