Brown & Brown's Risk Solutions team in Atlanta seeks a Property & Energy Claims Advocate to provide claims advocacy, program analysis and risk services to clients, in collaboration with the Senior Managing Director and the Placement Team.

The role focuses on managing claims toward timely, fair settlements, advising on carrier coverage positions, and developing service plans tailored to client needs. Strong communication and relationship-building are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Risk Management and/or 8–10 years of related insurance experience
• Must have or be able to obtain the appropriate state broker licenses
• Ability to establish work priorities and manage time effectively
• Ability to use initiative and good judgement in accomplishing tasks with minimal errors
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships and to function in a team environment
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to lead/command client and/or market discussions
• Good listening skills
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in reporting claims to carriers and document the claim; advise on emergency services and restoration resources
• Advise on managing cash flow with early advances and ongoing partial payments as requested
• Communicate potential issues to the client and the adjustment team throughout the process
• Provide guidance on carrier coverage positions and advocate for clients
• Manage client claims to achieve timely, fair settlements through follow-up and negotiations
• Provide input on client claims status to Risk Solutions placement team
• Offer feedback on identified coverage issues to the placement team
• Develop service plans for claims handling based on client needs
• Support and mentor junior team members and share success stories with clients and internal teams
• Assist with new business development and RFPs
• Develop and maintain client relationships with independent adjusters and vendors
• Stay current on marketplace changes and attend required training to maintain licenses
