Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a reputable and expanding property development company, is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Property Development Project Manager to join their team in East London, Eastern Cape . This role is pivotal in overseeing the successful execution of diverse property development projects, from conception through to completion. You will be responsible for managing all phases of the development lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, contractor management, and ensuring quality control and compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management within the construction or property development industry, excellent leadership abilities, and a thorough understanding of the development process. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to manage key projects in the East London area, balancing site-based responsibilities with office-based strategic planning and coordination. Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of property development projects from initiation to handover, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Select, appoint, and manage contractors, consultants, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee the design development process, ensuring compliance with planning regulations and client requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
• Manage project finances, including budget control, cost forecasting, and invoice approvals.
• Liaise effectively with all stakeholders, including clients, local authorities, community groups, and internal teams.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans as necessary.
• Ensure all projects comply with relevant building codes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations.
• Prepare and present regular project progress reports to senior management and clients.
• Facilitate project meetings and ensure clear communication channels are maintained.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 6 years of proven experience in project management within the property development or construction industry.
• Demonstrated success in managing multiple development projects concurrently.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and South African property development regulations.
• Excellent understanding of project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project).
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage budgets effectively and control project costs.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the East London region for site visits and meetings.
