The Brevard County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Property/Inventory Clerk to inspect, secure, and inventory assigned property, and provide clerical support within a jail facility. Responsibilities include processing inmate property and mail, maintaining stock, preparing work orders, and assisting supervisors with typing and errands.
The role requires a high school diploma, basic computer skills (Excel/Outlook), and a valid Florida driver's license.
The purpose of this class is to inspect, secure, and/or inventory assigned property and provide clerical and administrative support. This class is responsible for collection, inspection and distribution of mail. This class works within a general guideline of work to be performed under general supervision. The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
Work is performed in an office environment in a Jail facility. Employees may have inmate contact during the course of the normal work day.
Work schedule is a twelve hour shift with every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. Must have the ability to work either shift: 6:00 am - 6:00 pm OR 6:00 pm - 6:00 am.
Employees are subjected to extended work days and hours to meet operational needs or in the event of an emergency event.
This position requires successful completion of a criminal background investigation, including polygraph, reference/employment/neighborhood checks, a medical certification, submit to screening for illegal drug use prior to assuming position and will be subject to return to duty, post-accident and/or random and reasonable suspicious for drug tests while employed with BCSO.
