The Brevard County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Booking Unit support associate to assist Corrections Deputies during inmate processing. You will handle paperwork, enter data into booking systems, and verify accuracy under supervision.
Work in a jail facility environment with 12-hour shifts, every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. A high school diploma and at least 3 months of data entry are required; six months in jail operations or law enforcement is preferred.
Assist Corrections Deputies in an area where inmates are present and being processed in the Booking Unit. Receives, reviews, and ensures accurate completion of paperwork associated with an inmate being booked into jail. Works according to procedures and under general supervision.
The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
Work is completed in a Jail facility environment. Employees will have contact with inmates during the normal course of the work day.
Work is completed in twelve (12) hour shifts, with every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday off.
Must have the ability to work either shift: 6:00 am - 6:00 pm OR 6:00 pm - 6:00 am.
Employees are subjected to extended work days and hours to meet operational needs or in the event of an emergency event.
Successful completion of a criminal background investigation including polygraph, reference/employment/neighborhood checks. submit to screening for illegal drug use prior to assuming position and will be subject to return to duty, post-accident and/or random and reasonable suspicion drug tests while employed with BCSO.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a comprehensive background investigation, which includes a polygraph and criminal history review. Candidates must also pass a pre-employment drug screening. While employed, individuals will be subject to return-to-duty and post-accident drug screening.
