Job summary

Preferred Mutual seeks an experienced claims professional to alleviate adversity by promptly investigating and resolving first-party property claims. You will support the Claims Department, handle moderate complexity losses, and leverage data to guide reserve actions and coverage positions.

A strong customer service mindset is essential. You’ll review independent adjuster reports, draft coverage letters, and pursue third-party recovery opportunities while maintaining audit-ready file

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in property claim handling and processing.
• Progress toward attaining one professional designation (AIC, CPCU, SCLA).
• Exceptional active listening and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handles low to moderate complexity losses with knowledge of building materials and construction.
• Reviews reports from Independent Adjusters and vendors to determine coverage.
• Drafts basic coverage position letters and cites policy language.
• Pursues subrogation and recovery avenues with third parties.
• Coordinates with partners to deliver strong customer service on first-party property claims.
• Supports training efforts for new hires and existing staff.
