Job summary

Concord Insurance Group is seeking a Desk Property Adjuster to manage first party personal and commercial property claims from investigation through resolution. You will serve agents and insureds, evaluate coverage and loss, and negotiate settlements while maintaining compliance with procedures.

The role requires a bachelors degree or related experience, at least one year in claims, and proficiency with estimating tools such as Xactimate/XactContents.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or several years of related experience.
• Minimum one year of insurance claims experience.
• Experience writing estimates with Xactimate and XactContents preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and react to policies, manuals, and legal documents.
• Ability to assemble information, form opinions, and clearly express decisions.
• Ability to write reports and compose correspondence.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle mathematical problems and financial documents.

Responsibilities

• Assemble facts, determine coverage, evaluate loss amounts, and analyze liability.
• Make payments in accordance with coverage determinations and adjust losses.
• Study policies and endorsements to develop knowledge of products.
• Learn and comply with claim handling procedures.
• Develop skills in claim negotiations and settlements.
• Service needs of agents, insureds, and others.
• Meet with people involved with claims, sometimes offsite.
• Obtain and maintain adjuster licenses as required.
• Complete continuing education programs as required.
• Maintain punctual attendance at a Company-approved work location.
• Handle claims activities by phone, mail, and on-site investigations.
• Use technology-based information for reference and data entry, including estimating tools.
• Tackle increasingly complex claims as assigned.
