Job summary

Shelby County TN is seeking a detail-oriented assessor support specialist to document, process, and maintain records for real estate and personal property assessments. The role operates under minimal supervision and supports the Assessor's office with complex accounting and data entry tasks.

Qualifications

• Proof of education, training and/or experience required.
• Three (3) years of experience in appropriate assessment data, abstracting property appraisals, data processing or statistical work; OR
• Two (2) years of experience in appropriate assessment data, abstracting property appraisals, data processing or statistical work, plus one year of college.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute detailed assessment change information, certificates, letters and reports to Shelby County and all its municipal taxing authorities.
• Prepare tax certification as needed.
• Create reports from assessment and GIS data for office use and public requests.
