Job summary

The Town of Minden seeks motivated Appraiser Trainee or Appraiser to perform intermediate real and personal property appraisals for tax assessment. Duties include field inspections, data collection, and preparing appraisal reports in compliance with Nevada guidelines.

Training is provided for progression to higher licenses. Position offers on-site work with a comprehensive benefits package; salary ranges reflect experience and licensure progression.

Qualifications

• Appraiser Trainee requires an Associate's or Technical degree in appraisal, finance, construction tech or related field plus 1 year experience in appraisal/valuation.
• Appraiser requires a Bachelor's degree and 1 year appraisal experience or an equivalent combo of education/training/experience.

Responsibilities

• Reads maps and aerial photos to identify taxable real and personal property for official valuation.
• Collects data, interviews the public and offices to gather market information for value adjustments.
• Establishes appraised value using cost, income or sales comparison approaches; prepares appraisal reports.
