Qualifications

• Associate's/Technical degree in appraisal, finance, construction technology, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience in work which has involved the appraisal, assessment or valuation of real or personal property; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one (1) year of appraisal experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets maps and aerial photographs to locate and identify all taxable property for valuation.
• Collects data, interviews the public and other offices to gather information affecting value; compiles market data and inventories taxable property.
• Establishes appraised value of real or personal property using cost, income or sales comparison approaches; adjusts for various property types.
• Assists other appraisers and may act as a Review Appraiser; prepares for Board of Equalization hearings and defends assessed values.
• Maintains knowledge of NRS guidelines and professional appraisal practices; processes declarations of value and audits title companies.
