Job summary

A growing Indianapolis-based real estate organization is seeking a Property Accountant Specialist to join their team. The role focuses on supporting commercial tenants and onsite property teams with daily accounting tasks.

Initial schedule is fully in-office for the first 6 months, with potential for 1 day/week work-from-home for strong performers after six months. Training will be provided to the right candidate, and there is exposure to commercial real estate and tenant accounting.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of administrative, data analysis, or accounting experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Professional communication and client-facing skills.
• Organized and prepared to interact with different people.
• Property management experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily accounting support to commercial tenants and onsite property teams across the portfolio.
• Manage commercial tenant ledgers, including posting and reversing payments, creating and reversing charges, and resolving accounting issues.
• Enter and maintain accurate tenant charges, including rent, CAM, and additional rent schedules in Entrata.
• Coordinate monthly commercial tenant ACH payments with Property Accountants.
• Communicate with tenants and internal teams to resolve questions and accounting discrepancies.

Property Accountant Specialist

Location: Downtown Indianapolis, IN
Compensation: $25–$28/hour
Schedule: Fully in-office for the first 6 months; after 6 months, strong performers may work from home 1 day/week.

What You’ll Do
