Job summary

Abode Communities is seeking a Property Accountant to manage and maintain books for multiple operating properties, track advances, and reconcile balance sheets. You will prepare monthly statements, budget-to-actual analyses, and collaborate with property managers on tenant balances.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and 3–5 years in affordable housing or nonprofit accounting. Experience with MRI Software is a plus; a flexible, proactive communicator will thrive.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in affordable housing, property management, or non-profit accounting.
• Strong communication and initiative to resolve tasks and issues.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain trial balances and general ledgers.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and variance reports.
• Review and approve accounts payable invoices and schedule payments.
• Reconcile balance sheet schedules and assist external auditors.
• Collaborate with property managers on tenant accounts and MRI reports.
