Job summary

Bellwether Housing is seeking a Property Accountant to manage complex financial transactions for an assigned portfolio of affordable housing properties. You will own closing entries, produce audit and management reports, and coordinate receivables collections while ensuring GAAP compliance.

The role requires 2–3 years of accounting experience, LIHTC knowledge, and strong Excel/Yardi skills to support budgeting and financial analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field preferred.
  • 2–3 years of Progressive accounting and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience with GAAP and financial reporting.
  • LIHTC and affordable housing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end and quarterly GL close and reconciliations.
  • Review trial balances for GAAP conformity and accuracy.
  • Monitor property-level accounts receivable and aging.
  • Collaborate with property managers on delinquencies and ledgers.
  • Support annual audits and cost certification processes.
  • Prepare financial reports for controller and CFO review.
