Job summary

Ledgent, Inc. is seeking a Property Accountant to support day-to-day accounting for a mixed portfolio of multifamily and commercial real estate in Southern California.

The role focuses on financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, budgeting support, and property performance analysis. The ideal candidate has strong Yardi experience, GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and 3+ years of property accounting experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of property accounting experience.
• Experience with both multifamily and commercial real estate portfolios preferred.
• Proficiency with Yardi Voyager required.
• Strong GAAP understanding and property accounting principles.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) for financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements for assigned properties.
• Perform month-end and year-end close procedures, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, bank accounts, and intercompany accounts.
• Review and analyze property operating results and budget variances.
• Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Process and review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Prepare tenant billings, operating expense reconciliations, and CAM reconciliations for commercial properties.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Support internal and external audit requests.
• Partner with property management and operations teams to resolve financial issues and improve reporting accuracy.
• Utilize Yardi to maintain property financial records and generate reports.

Our client is a privately held real estate investment, development, and property management organization with a diversified portfolio of multifamily and commercial properties throughout Southern California. They are seeking a Property Accountant to join their growing accounting team and support the financial operations of a mixed portfolio of real estate assets.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and has experience with both multifamily and commercial property accounting.

Position Summary

• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, and financial analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
