Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate/property management.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with Yardi preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting, including journal entries and AR review.
• Review coding accuracy in AP.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements for multiple properties on accrual and cash basis.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reports to stakeholders and lenders.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with property managers to resolve financial discrepancies.
• Support audits and tax preparation processes.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experience Property Accountant to join our real estate team in San Pedro, CA. This role is responsible for managing the financial reporting and accounting functions for a portfolio of commercial and residential properties. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of real estate accounting, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day accounting, such as journal entries and review AR
• Review coding accuracy in AP
• Prepare and analyze financial statements for multiple properties on an accrual and cash basis
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process
• Ensure timely delivery and accurate financial reports to internal stakeholders, managers, and lenders
• Prepare/maintain supporting schedules for the financial statements
• Maintain general ledgers and ensure accuracy of all financial transactions
• Strong knowledge of lease administration and CAM estimates/reconciliations
• Utilize Yardi software for property management and accounting tasks
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Coordinate with property managers to resolve financial discrepancies
• Support external audits and tax preparation processes
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience preferable in real estate/property management
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Proficiency with Yardi preferred
