The Tone:

This is a full-time role at Invitation Homes. This role is crucial for providing timely and accurate financial information to shareholders and internal partners by maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, supporting the month-end close process, and ensuring timely delivery of financial reports.

What You’ll Actually Do

• General Ledger Management: Prepare high-volume journal entries, complete bank reconciliations across multiple accounts, and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Financial Review: Review the balance sheets and income statements to ensure their accuracy.
• Month-End Close: Support the month-end close process and ensure all deadlines are met.
• Financial Analysis: Review financial results and provide analysis and insight, including recurring and ad hoc analyses of financial trends, performance metrics, and benchmarks.
• Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audit requests, including SOX compliance and internal controls documentation.

The Must-Haves

• Background: Early Career, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Experience: At least one year of experience in accounting and financial statement preparation is preferred; intermediate knowledge of Excel functionality is required.
• Skills: Analytical thinking with attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset, ability to follow and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), strong customer service and interpersonal skills, and professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience with Yardi software.
