This role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, supporting the month-end close process and collaborating with other teams within the Accounting Department to ensure timely delivery of financial reports.The ideal candidate thrives in a high volume, fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong organizational skills, and wants to learn multiple aspects of the single-family residential business while contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency.**E****ssential Job Duties and Responsibilities*** Prepare high-volume journal entries, complete bank reconciliations across multiple accounts, and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations.* Review the balance sheets and income statements to ensure accuracy.* Support and meet month-end close deadlines are met.* Review financial results and provide analysis and insight.* Assist with recurring and ad hoc analyses of financial results, including trends, performance metrics, and benchmarks to understand operating results.* Assist with internal and external audit requests, including SOX compliance and internal controls documentation.* Participate in Company-provided training to increase knowledge of single-family residential business.**E****ducation** **a****nd/or Experience*** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.* 1+ years of experience in accounting and financial statement preparation is preferred.* Intermediate knowledge of Excel functionality is required.* Yardi experience a plus.**Skills/Specialized** **Knowledge*** Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.* Analytical thinker with attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.* Highly self-motivated and directed.* Ability to follow and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).* Ability to read and comprehend financial statements.* Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to others.* Professional verbal and written communication skills.* Ability to set and meet goals and consistently meet deadlines.**Other Requirements*** Must maintain professional appearance.* Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis; Overtime may be required for this position.**Physical and Mental** **Demands**This position will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
