Job summary

LHH is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant in Charlotte to own the financial reporting process for a portfolio of residential operating properties within a growing real estate organization.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting, collaborating with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely information and to deepen experience in residential property accounting within a corporate setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 2-3 years of accounting experience.
• Real estate or residential property accounting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements for residential properties, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Perform trial balance and general ledger account reconciliations
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations
• Calculate and record management fees
• Reconcile accounts receivable and review aged delinquency reports
• Prepare mortgage interest, depreciation, and amortization accruals
• Review and edit accounts payable and assist with the approval and release of funds
• Process security deposit refunds for residential properties
• Prepare and submit sales and use tax filings
• Assist with additional accounting and financial reporting needs as required
