Ignited Recruiting is seeking a hands-on Property Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of properties and entities. You will support corporate accounting functions, perform full-cycle close, and work on process improvements.

The role reports to the Controller and offers opportunities to impact workflow and controls as the portfolio evolves. Ideal candidates have 3–5+ years in property accounting and solid GAAP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in property, real estate, or multi-entity environments.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, and month-end close processes.
• Hands-on experience with AP/AR and account reconciliations.
• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables, with comfort handling large data sets.

Responsabilités

• Perform full-cycle property accounting for an assigned portfolio of properties and entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice review, coding, payment processing, tenant billing, and collections follow-up.
• Maintain accurate general ledgers across multiple entities and prepare monthly financial statements.
• Record corporate-level entries such as management fees, depreciation, and intercompany activity.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses for management.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve controls, and optimize systems.
• Assist with tax reporting and compliance, including property tax, sales tax, and payroll tax filings as needed (training provided).

Our client is a well-established, privately held investment firm with a diverse portfolio of real estate and operating businesses across Southern California and they are seeking a Property Accountant to join their growing team. Reporting to the Controller, you'll handle day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of properties and entities, support corporate accounting functions, and help improve our processes as the portfolio evolves. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and is always looking for a better way to do things.
