AccruePartners in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting for a large portfolio of 100+ retail properties. You’ll handle bank reconciliations, GL maintenance, and timely month-end close supporting accurate financial statements.

The role requires 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Yardi is a plus.

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting through financial statements.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and property accounting processes.
• Ability to manage multiple properties, deadlines, and priorities with attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Manage the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of properties, including bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, prepaid and deferred items, depreciation, and amortization.
• Perform month-end close and prepare balance sheets, income statements, and GL detail for each property.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including escrows and loan balances, and review variances.
• Support year-end close, audits, and tax preparation with outside CPAs; maintain internal controls and documentation.

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

• Manage the full accounting cycle for an assigned portfolio of properties, including bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
• Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, prepaid and deferred items, depreciation, and amortization
• Perform month-end close on a timely basis and prepare balance sheets, income statements, and general ledger detail for each property
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including escrows, and loan balances
• Review and analyze budget-to-actual and variance reports; provide commentary to management and property managers
• Ensure proper capitalization of improvements, leasing costs, and development costs
• Monitor and track real estate tax, insurance, and other recurring obligations
• Support year-end close, audit, and tax preparation, including coordination with outside CPAs and delivery of schedules and workpapers
• Help maintain and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and documentation
• Prepare ad hoc analyses and reports for ownership and management
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and take on additional duties as needs arise in a small company

BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting through financial statement preparation
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple properties, deadlines, and priorities
