Job summary

Superior Plus Propane is seeking a Propane Specialist to ensure safe and timely tank setup and product deliveries to customers while upholding top safety standards.

You will load/unload propane, perform pre/post vehicle inspections, and use technology to track inventory and print delivery tickets. A CDL, Hazmat endorsement, and DOT medical certification are preferred; US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Propane experience preferred; 1+ year is common.
• CDL A/B and tanker/hazmat endorsements are important.
• DOT medical certification required.
• On-call availability in evenings/weekends.
• US work authorization; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, load, and deliver propane to customers and containers.
• Monitor inventory, generate tickets, and submit driver reports.
• Perform vehicle and site inspections and report issues.
• Coordinate with Dispatcher for routing and safety guidance.
• Install propane tanks and conduct maintenance as needed.
• Handle emergencies and ensure safety compliance.

A Propane Specialist is responsible for the safe and timely tank setup and/or delivery of products to our customers. The Propane Specialist will install/repair tanks, deliver, load and unload propane into the bulk truck and end use containers while providing exceptional customer service. A Propane Specialist will also be accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

What you’ll do:

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane products to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks, and/or cylinders) for customers. Initiate and conduct the asset verification process. Collect customer signatures/stamps and payments for deposit if necessary. Offer customer brochures with basic price lists and a contact number. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver reports where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable, document pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the Dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling, or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.
• Provide Propane tank installations in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all state/local codes and safety policies. Identify and correct any leaks from the tank to equipment connection. Respond to customer emergencies as needed. Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer locations. Perform tank maintenance on spare tanks in preparation of installation.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

What you bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year job related (Propane) experience preferred
• CDL Class A or B
• Tanker & Hazmat Endorsement preferred
• Up-to-date DOT medical certification
• Ability to rotate "on call" status during evenings and weekends as needed
• Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening

The hourly rate for this position is $28.00 - $32.00 per hour.

This role will be eligible for overtime pay once scheduled work week hours are met.

When applicable, this role is eligible for an on-call incentive stipend.

This position is also eligible for a quarterly/annual incentive program.
