Job summary

Superior Plus Propane is seeking a Propane Specialist responsible for the safe and timely delivery of propane to customers. You will load and unload propane, provide exceptional service, and uphold the highest safety standards in handling propane, with regular vehicle inspections.

Responsibilities include transferring propane between containers, tracking inventory with available technology, coordinating with the Dispatcher on routing, and performing tank installations and leak checks.

Qualifications

• Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and ability to operate safely on delivery routes.
• Strong communication and customer service skills are required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane to customer containers; maintain accurate delivery records.
• Monitor propane inventory, tank levels, and print delivery tickets; complete driver reports.
• Perform pre/post vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues.
• Coordinate with Dispatcher for routing and scheduling; report issues immediately.
• Install propane tanks per codes; identify leaks and respond to emergencies; perform repairs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Propane Specialist is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of propane to our customers. The Propane Specialist will deliver, load and unload propane while providing exceptional customer service. Our Propane Specialist are also accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

What you'll do:

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane products to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks, and/or cylinders) for customers. Initiate and conduct the asset verification process. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.


• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver reports where necessary.


• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable, document pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.


• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the Dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling, or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.


• Provide Propane tank installations in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all state/local codes and safety policies. Identify and correct any leaks from the tank to equipment connection. Respond to customer emergencies as needed. Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer locations. Perform tank maintenance on spare tanks in preparation of installation.


• Perform other job duties as assigned.

What you bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Minimum of one (1) year job related (Propane) experience preferred


• CDL Class A or B


• Tanker & Hazmat endorsements preferred


• Up-to-date DOT medical certification


• Willingness to rotate \"on call\" status during evenings and weekends as needed.


• Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening.

The hourly rate for this position is $29.00 - $33.00 per hour.

This role will be eligible for overtime pay once scheduled work week hours are met.

When applicable, this role is eligible for an on-call incentive stipend.

This position is also eligible for a quarterly/annual incentive program.
