Job summary

Superior Plus Propane is hiring a Propane Specialist to safely set up and deliver propane, install/repair tanks, and handle loading/unloading on a schedule with strong safety adherence. You will inspect equipment, coordinate with the dispatcher for routing, and provide excellent customer service.

This role includes on-call shifts and potential incentive programs. Experience in propane operations, a valid CDL, and DOT medical certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year propane experience preferred.
• CDL Class A or B with Tanker & Hazmat.
• Up-to-date DOT medical certification.
• Willingness to rotate on-call status during evenings and weekends as needed.
• Legal authorization to work in the US; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane products to customers and containers, verify assets, collect signatures/payments, provide brochures, maintain vehicle.
• Leverage technology to monitor propane inventory, print delivery tickets, and complete daily driver reports.
• Maintain safety standards and conduct vehicle inspections and site inspections.
• Collaborate with Dispatcher for routing and scheduling; communicate issues promptly.
• Provide propane tank installations, identify and fix leaks, respond to emergencies, and perform tank maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Reporting directly to the District or Delivery Manager, Propane Specialist is responsible for the safe and timely tank setup and/or delivery of products to our customers. The Propane Specialist will install/repair tanks, deliver, load and unload propane into the bulk truck and end use containers while providing exceptional customer service. A Propane Specialist will also be accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

What you’ll do:

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane products to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks, and/or cylinders) for customers. Initiate and conduct the asset verification process. Collect customer signatures/stamps and payments for deposit if necessary. Offer customer brochures with basic price lists and a contact number. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver reports where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable, document pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the Dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling, or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.
• Provide Propane tank installations in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all state/local codes and safety policies. Identify and correct any leaks from the tank to equipment connection. Respond to customer emergencies as needed. Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer locations. Perform tank maintenance on spare tanks in preparation of installation.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

What you bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year job related (Propane) experience preferred
• CDL Class A or B with Tanker & Hazmat
• Up-to-date DOT medical certification
• Willingness to rotate “on call” status during evenings and weekends as needed.
• Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening

The hourly rate for this position is $26.00 - $28.00 per hour.

This role will be eligible for overtime pay once scheduled work week hours are met.

When applicable, this role is eligible for an on-call incentive stipend.

This position is also eligible for a quarterly/annual incentive program.
