Job summary

Superior Plus Propane is seeking a Propane Specialist in Westport, MA to safely and timely deliver propane, load and unload, and deliver exceptional customer service. The role requires clean driving record and DOT medical certification, with CDL A/B and Hazmat endorsements preferred.

You will perform tank installations, conduct routine vehicle inspections, and coordinate with dispatch for routing while maintaining high safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year propane experience preferred.
• CDL Class A or B preferred.
• Tanker & Hazmat endorsements preferred.
• Clean driving record and up-to-date DOT medical certification.
• Willingness to rotate on-call status during evenings and weekends.
• Authorized to work in the US; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, load, and deliver propane for customers and containers; maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Monitor inventory levels, print delivery tickets, and complete daily driver reports.
• Perform pre/post vehicle inspections and site inspections; uphold safety standards.
• Collaborate with Dispatcher for routing; report issues promptly.
• Provide propane tank installations and respond to emergencies; inspect and repair tanks.

Job description

The Propane Specialist is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of propane to our customers. The Propane Specialist will deliver, load and unload propane while providing exceptional customer service. Our Propane Specialist are also accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

What you’ll do:

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane products to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks, and/or cylinders) for customers. Initiate and conduct the asset verification process. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver reports where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable, document pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the Dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling, or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.
• Provide Propane tank installations in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all state/local codes and safety policies. Identify and correct any leaks from the tank to equipment connection. Respond to customer emergencies as needed. Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer locations. Perform tank maintenance on spare tanks in preparation of installation.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

• Minimum of one (1) year job related (Propane) experience preferred
• CDL Class A or B
• Tanker & Hazmat endorsements preferred
• Clean drivers abstract
• Up-to-date DOT medical certification
• Willingness to rotate “on call” status during evenings and weekends as needed.
• Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening.

The hourly rate for this position is $29.00 - $33.00 per hour.

This role will be eligible for overtime pay once scheduled work week hours are met.

When applicable, this role is eligible for an on-call incentive stipend.

This position is also eligible for a quarterly/annual incentive program.
